Most of the anti-cyano products can help knock it back or temporarily kill most of it, but IMO you are on the right path of trying to cure the problem instead of the symptom (water changes, cut back on feeding, etc.). Cyano cylces and can keep coming back until the cause is fixed.
I found that the big Mexican Turbos will eat cyano. To get rid of my outbreak, I got my nitrates under control, added a couple Turbos, cut back feedings, cleaned/changed filter media more often, increased water flow, and siphoned the cyano out where/when possible. It took me several months (at least) but it is gone (for) now.
I used the ultralife product and it helped a bit, but mine was so out of control that I had to fix the root of the problem. You must take care with most of the anti-cyano products. They will usually make the skimmer go crazy and you have to either turn them off or early shut them down. I have read of many who have lost fish or inverts because the oxygen level can drop substantially during treatment.
