Red Coraline Algee

Okay-I can't even spell what I am asking about but I need help. I have just purchased a fish aquarium from a friend. It has a red coraline algee on the back in roundish spots and on the live rocks. He told me it is good. Today, 3 days into my investment this algee has turned whiteish...? I have tested for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, ph-they are coming back all in correct ranges. Does anyone know what is wrong?
Thank you!

Did you take the aquarium down after you purchased it? Maybe to move it or something? If so, it sounds like the Coraline was out of the water for a time which will cause it to die and turn white. It's not really a big deal you just have to get it growing again.

How do you get it growing again? When we bought it on Saturday and we moved it it was put in some new clean garbage cans with some water but not covered. It took about 7 hours to move it and get it back together...could that have done it. It just changed colors tonight...?
Thank you !
