Red Coris Wrasse ?

My buddy just picked up a Red Coris wrasse on Monday.
Its about 4" with the beautiful adult coloration. Its in a 75g with a 3" Niger Trigger.
It has dug itself under the sand and has only been seen this morning for about 10 mins. It came nice and fat from the LFS and was in the bag and never released into thier tank. The LFS hand picks these fish in NJ and drive them back to MA.
Is this normal behavior for this fish? Will it eventially show itself?

Don't worry, your wrasse is still getting adjusted. They do this all the time. I wouldn't worry, its common for wrasses to hide for quite a while before they feel it is safe to come out.
Good luck,
Chad

my bro used to have a green coris wrasse. i don't know how similar these two are, though. it used to bury itself under the sand at night and sometimes it would just all of a sudden bury everything but it's head and just look around. it was really funny.

UPDATE: My buddies coris still in under the sand but comes out more often. It actually munched on some silversides with the trigger. Things are getting better.
