red flowers on LR?

I was just wondering what this was, and if it was good or bad? On one of my live rock pieces there are little red things randomly sprouting here and there across teh rock. They are a dark red color and look liek a tiny flower. I tried taking a decent photo but it kept appearing blurry and you couldn't see the red flowers.

I also have these all over mu rocks.They look kind of spiney???Like a small sand burr??? My guess is they are a sort of coraline algae....Must be since my Racoon butterfly I had would not eat them.Everything else on the rocks would not last long while he was in the tank...

I have them too...I put a photo below to confirm we're talking about the same thing. I always assumed it was a form of coralline. Anyone have other thoughts?

Yup! That'd be it! They look alot like that! So they aren't bad, just hanging aroudn there and doing good?

They're a good thing to have. They just filter feed on pytoplankton. You could put a little DT's in there if you want for them.
