They have bumps and bump on starfish generally mean they aren't reef safe. Mr. Salty and fixit and BlueBerry have one. Recemmended for a fish only tank.

clowning around, These are awesome looking star fish, we have had ours for about 4 or 5 months now, it is in our F/O they are not reef friendly, they love to munch on corals..
We feed crab, squid and brine for the most part to our fish and he eats the scraps. Hope this helps, Lisa

I just lost mine a week or so ago,but they are a very cool star...Mine was fine till one day it started loosing it's horns/spines.They started falling out slowly at first, one or two a day. They left huge gaping holes in his flesh when the fell out,but these holes seemed to head over in a day or so.So seeing as how it seemed to be healing itself quickly,I thought he was going to be OK. Then one day I got home from work and there were big chunks missing out of his arms, and five or six of his horns had fallen out at once.I took this as a bad sign,so I put him out of his obvious misery..I WILL get another one someday...This guy was in my tank for well over a year...

ok..if going into a fwolr tank, what species of starfish would be possible with the red general???thanks...sorry mr salty...I saw those pics on your site...that starfish was awsome...that's what drew my interest!! :(
