red light...

I've heard people say they look at there tank at night through a flashlight w/ a red lense, is there a red bulb I can get to do the same thing...this is to see what comes out at night...

Sure . . its been done before. Animals (most, if not all) in the ocean have evolved out of the development of the photoreceptors that absorb light in the red spectrum. Therefore, using a red light to peer into the tank at night does not disturb anything because they cant see it. But dont use too strong a light becuase the heat given off can still be sensed.
