red mandrin need help

hi,
Two days back got a 2 inch mandrin form LFS. It's a bit skinny but it was picking on stones and sand at LFS, so i picked ti up. i have got a 55 gallon tank and 30 gallons of sump with refugium and about 60 pounds of live rock. .
i have kept it in the refugium which has healthy population of pods. i can see it picking the rocks but not sure that it is eating pods, i have tried to feed it dry worms but unsucessful. so please guide me with how to train it to have frozen food.

My mandarin takes frozen prawn roe. To feed, I turn off all circulation and use a pipette to deposit a small mound if roe on the sand. He has come to recognize the pipette and come directly to it, and even take food directly from the tip.
