red mushroom propogation

A few months ago I bought some red mushrooms and they are doing great. Some have even picked up their base and moved creating baby shrooms. However I am wondering how big do they need to be before propogating them. The largest ones are propablly the size of a golf ball and they go right on down smaller than the size of a dime. Thanks.

anything over 1inch is good..... I've tried smaller pieces but had better results with the bigger ones. If you never done that before... try cutting in half.... after you get a grip of it you can cut in 4 pieces (1/4). Srooms are very hardy.... so go for it.

How long should I expect for them to heal? and get big again?

If you keep a healthy tank.... I'd say 3-7 days for it to attach. Mine usually double the size in less then a month. I frag my shroom every other month.

I have never fragged shrooms. So your saying I can cut one of my shrooms into 4 quarters and and it will heal into 4 shrooms. Do i cut the base also as part of the quarters? how would I re attach them? Thanks for the help?
