Red Rusty stuff!!

I just saw my new 75 gal tank that I got from a friend that has been running for 2 years or more. They have this rusty red algea thing taking over the sand and rock. Is it good, which I don't think it is that and how do I remove it.

Could you describe it more? Is it like a film, with air-bubble in places? Could be diniflagellates. ANsty things! Here's a pic of some that USED to be in my 55.

I think it was made buy something that started with a p that came on some coaral and reproduced rapidy. But mine was more rust brown or red and solid.

Sounds like bactira do you have a skiimer? if not get one. I would clean it off.... maybe a water change too

My friends did that and even freshwater diped it but it comes back if 1 is left
