Actually, that doesn’t look like the red variety. Below are a few shots of the Red Scooter Blenny (Synchiropus stellatus). These are not for the contest as they are not my photos – They're just for clarification.

its not hungry, they get WIDER when fat, mine was quite fat, still was when dead (yes, i lost my favorite fish of all time recently, im more than angry, it was doing great in the morning, ate its mysis, cruised around a while, then it went to the front of the glass, and didnt move again. one of those wtf deaths, cuz levels were great, and nothing else was effected.
either way, that isnt a red scooter, and i dont think their is a scooter contest. we missed it.

it is a red scooter blenny, you see the red if you look, hes just darker in coloration, colors do and can vary. its not mine however its from a local reefers tank. i was unsure if they had already had the poll so its just up.

Im still pretty sure its not a RED scooter dragonet, If Im familiar with any fish its scooters. and i see the red hues in it, but almost all scooters have that. some get blue, but most have a little red.

I am SO sorry to hear that you lost your beloved scooter.
And what a strange way to lose him! Wonder what happened? Weird. I love my little scooter and hope to never have to find him dead one day.
*hugs* to you.
