red sea hang-on prizm

I have a Prizm Skimmer made by Red Sea it's a hang on the tank style I got it on Dec. 25th today it stopped running. My question to all my fish friends. The LFS said they would try to fix it or give me store credit. Should I get a skimmer that hags on or one that goes under my stand in like a 10 gallon tank and plumb it up or get another hang on job? Thanks to all

tyhis happened to fishman622s.. while he was on vacation and i was takign care of his fish
ok
take the whole thing apart.. clean everything out
clean the impeller well.. then put ti back and put some water in it. do not let the air from teh hose go it.. block that w/ your finger

What do you mean it stopped working?
Cuz mine pumps water but it does not skim.
I dont know what to do with it.
I really really hate it either under skims or it over skims. And there are tons of bubbles that go right into the tank.
I have been running skimmerless for a while now. I dont think i can get store credit for mine cuz it does not work, and I had bought it online

go with a sump setup under your tank. Personally, id go with as large of a sump tank as will fit under the main tank. It'll give you some additional gallons to your setup and give you somewhere to hide the skimmer and heater. It does cost a bit more since you need an overflow, return pump, and piping, but it pays off. You can also add macros to the sump to help filtration.
