Red Sea Max 250

Has anyone heard anything about this system? I have been thinking about upgrading from my 34g, and I really like the streamlined look of the Red Sea Max. They are on the pricey side ($1300 up) for a 65g, but they seem really nice.

If that doesn't make sense, if you just google Red Sea Max 250, it'll bring it up. Like I said before, you're mostly paying for the "plug and play" and the streamlined look.

Honestly I think over priced, but really depends what your planning on keeping. I will assume your into the hobby and most plug and play aren't worth the cash IMHO. Pumps seem iffy and skimmer questionable which to me means down the road you'll be looking to upgrade them. All in all I think would be cheaper to piece together a nice setup for that money. JMHO

red sea max's are really nice systems imo, but it would be cheaper to put together ur own. unless youre looking for a certain style, which the red sea maxs have (really nice imo). you could always upgrade the skimmer, the bulbs, etc

That's what I was getting at, down the road you'll notice shortcomings and things needed to be upgraded. Then you have issues when things fail or break.

the rsm 250 is definately bought for the first reason of aesthetics. i do believe though that it can be equally as good as a system with a sump. but to get it that good, its not worth the price considering you can have a custom tank already made which will even look better

its overpriced, but thats what you pay when you just want a plug and play system and dont want to get all the parts and put it together yourself. personally, i think the rsm250 is s e x y, wayyyyy se x i er than a 125 with better skimmer and better lights you could put together yourself.

I haven't really priced one out yet (I just was given my 34g as a birthday gift from my in laws), but what should I look to pay for a decent set up (about 60-70g, t5's, reef ready, sump, etc)? Or is there any way to know?
$1000? $1500?

That looks awesome! very nice looking setup.
The ugly part is the 1,599.99 price tag.
Yikes! If you can swing that kind of cash however than SWEET!!!
