Red Sea Max250

My 29 gal is getting too small and I'm considering a Red Sea Max250 for an upgrade.
Anybody can provide an opinion about setting one as a reef?
Thanks

Yes. At $1600, thats crazy money for a 65g tank. Youd be better off buying a used 90g or 75g off CL and buying all the equipment. Im setting up a 75g with everything, including gread lights, before livestock including the tank for $1050. Im sure thats not what you were looking for, but thats what I think.

I agree with markw. In my opinion, i dont really like T5 lighting being that you are limited on what corals you can get.

I slightly disagree. You can keep most anything with the Nova Extreme 8x54W +4 lunar light fixture depending on the size of your tank.

personally i find it much more fun to buy everything exactly as i want it to build the tank and look i want. (including building my own stand) BUT if you are an instant gratification kinda person the red sea max's are nice...

I believe compare the price of a new RedSea (or any other thing) with a used one is not fair.
Try to price a new 75 with cabinet, lights, skimmer and all other equipment and you might find the RedSea not that expensive.
The pleasure to buy the equipment you like is another story......

I will do some research to find something to post but it seems to me I have read that the T% lights in the Red Sea tanks are not HO. They are only PC light with a T5 size. I'll be back.

Yeah here is a quote from one of the online sellers.
"Lighting: Reef Spec lighting of 4watts per gallon is controlled by a high quality timer and consists of 6 39w T5 Linear Power Compact
lamps giving 234 watts output."

Youre right. With a new 75g reef ready tank with stand, NExPro 6x54w T5HO lights, ASM G2 skimmer, K3 and 2x K2 (koralia), the cheapest total I could find would be $1287.
My mistake.

Check out U-tube posts. As a novice i found this was a reasonable way to get started.Equipment choices can be overwhelming when you are new to the hobby.

Opinions please on adding a wave maker to the 250 when it will be operated as a reef tank?
Thanks for your help
