Red Sea Prism. Broken?

I have a used Red Sea Prism skimmer that was thrown in on a deal with some live rock and fish. Every time I hook it up I have to adjust it constantly to keep it from overflowing. Is it broken, or do I just need to give it more time and more adjustment? Anyone have a suggestion for a hang-on skimmer for under $130 for a 46 gallon tank? Would prefer one that I can put in a sump later on. Thanks in advance.

I had a Prizm that I never could get adjusted right. I finally gave up and sent it back. I then got an AquaC which I love.
Do yourself a favor and spend a little more $ for a good skimmer. I learned that, as most everything is, with skimmers you get what you pay for.

parallel to the intake tube? If it is you may need to take a needle and clean out the little air

inside where the air tube attatches.
Take the intake tube out of the skimmer. Pull off the back black cap and take off the inner air line tube and clean out the little

with a needle. Coraline algea will build up on it.
