can anyone explain why it says to keep the water level at the o ring, becuz if i do that then the bubbles dont get to the top, or am i supposed to wait and as they react and build up they will get to the top and come out?

i have a seaclone 150 so i might not be to much help but my understanding of how these work it that. you wont get any thing skimmed right away. it takes some time. if you dont have anything within 48 hours then something is wrong. i normally get it withing 24 hours after totally cleaning it and pulling mine apart.
i havnt seen a redsea version but is there any bubbles forming?
and if so how far up the tube are they?

do you have a colection cup?
a pic of one of the sides would help out some
is the water flowing back into the tank or is that the real problem? cuz the way the picture looks is that water isnt flowing back into the tank

There should certainly be a cup on there or the skimate is just running back into the water.

It looks like it is flowing back on the right of where the cup should be. There is an overflow there.

I have the same skimmer. It looks like the skimmer is pulling more water than waste. Turn the black dial clock wise a little to adjust that. Basicaly it the the knob dial completely horizontal with the intake pipe it is running suking little water. Which is like a slow speed. You will need to gradually turn the dial knob clockwise to allow more water. After playing with it for a few days you should get the setting on how far to turn it.
I see that the skimmate is dumping into the collection cup which is good. As the skimmate builds up pull the top piece off and clean the inner parts where the smimmate touches. Clean the inner part where the O ring is too.
As for a modification, I uses a small drill bit to open the air intake. I believe it was a 3/32 bit. The air intake is the back black piece that has the air tube in it.

be real careful with this skimmer they will flood. I would go to sleep and the next moring my carpet was soaked. anyways to help with your problem keep the water level right at the begining of the riser tube.

bump does anyone know what the reaction means and like water level i cant tell in this skimmer its just a bunch of bubbles, i dont like it too low cuz i dont know if its skimming and two high and its watery

I have this skimmer, and with a lot of patience you will get it right. First thig is it does take a while to begin to foam. According to your pictures it was catching a lot of water so very slowy turn dial. I would wait until the next day before turning the dial again just becuase it is very slow to begin to see the correct foam collection. Did you start the prime on I before switching back to II?
Otherwise I would start with the water low and every morning you wake up and dont see foam I would turn the dial very little! I have heard that it takes time, but once you have it dialed in proplerly, it is great!!

I have this skimmer as well. It took a couple weeks to get it right, but since then its worked great. If you are getting too many bubbles in the tank, turn the dial clockwise so its almost horizontal and you wont get anymore bubbles. Also, that will reduce the amount of water going into the collection cup and start producing more foam.

I have the Red Sea Priszm pro for up to 300 gallon tanks. Mine pulls about 1 quart of skimate a WEEK out of my 150 Fowlr. The biggest issuse I have ahd is right after cleaning it it likes to go APE and try to flood my carpet. I modded my collection cup with a 1/8 inch hole drilled into the front of it about 1/2 inch from the top of the collection cup that way I do not get the flodding of my carpet. My reef president lost her ASM G3 while my tank was down she was deparate for a skimmer almost bought a Seaclone 150 I loaned her mine to get her by til her new pump came in she emailed me a couple days ago she is think on her new 125 tank FOWLR running the red sea.

good news, i am getting a nice green skimmate, it is very liquidy not sure if its supposed to be like that but its not dark green like on other skimmers, and i just cant get a ton of bubbles to form int eh reaction chamber, i have been reading that adding filter floss to that chamber causes more disturbance and more bubbles? is that right and has anyone tried it also how have you all quieted this skimmer down?

I have them same skimmer- NOT sure if I would add anything to it- thinking if adding floss to it might actually cause less bubbles and would most likely have to be changed often being I'm sure it would get yucked up pretty quickly
IMO
