Hi Guys,
I have had one of these for 9 months nearly now, then all of a sudden stopped sucking the water in. I wrote to Red Sea who in all fairness were fantastic at helping me and sent me a replacement motor free of charge. Its still not working. WHy isnt it sucking water in?
Any ideas would be appreciated!
Tim.

If you are talking about the hang on one, I had the same problem with mine, but it was older than a year so i had to buy the replacemnt motor for $10.
Check all the rubber gaskets, make sure they are wet, also the tube that goes into the collection bin needs to be pinched shut to start the suction when you first turn it on- then once the water has risen up the tube and is flowing freely, you can stop pinching it. Also make sure that you fill it with tank water if its not allready full. (the main portion, not the collection bin)

yah, when i first got mine their priming technique didn't work either...i filled the chambers with water manually then it started up just fine. just a thought...

Mine actually said in the instructions to fill all the chambers first-- my guess is that they realized it woudl work better if you did that first and added it to the instructions....

ok cheers guys will give that a go and see how it works! I was priming it the way they instructed (connecting it to left hand nossle) but will pinch it and see what happens!
Cheers!

Tim---
I used to follow their instructions and hook it to the left hand nossle, but started either pinching it, or unpluging it and just holding my finger over the end. all hooking it to the left hand nossle does is to stop air from being sucked in, so all the power from the pump is used to suck the water in. good luck- let us know how you make out...

thanks joe.
Ive managed to successfully prime it by filling up all compartments with water. This happened with the old motor but would die out after a few hours so will have to wait and see, but in the meantime thanks for your help and will let you know how I get on!
