Hey - by no means and I an expert, but I got a prizim for my 46 gallon. Setting up was a pain, I had to have the intake almost all the way off or else the whole tank was filled with bubbles!! Then I'd find the thing would run fine for two or three weeks, but then just seem to stop intaking water.
I finally took mine off and now I'm looking for a new one. I've posted a message yesterday "Skimmer for 46 gallon." if you want to read what others said.

Pretty much everyone is happy with these skimmers. I have one and it would not have been my first choice of skimmers. However, mine works fine as far as skimming.
As far as the constant bubbles being shot into the display, this is true, but mainly through the break in period, if there are bubbles being shot in after this time, then there is a dry to wet seal leak. On mine I have a problem with the o-ring on the intake control leaking air and slowly reducing the amount of water on the back side of the intake tube. All I do is check this every few days and adjust the flow for a few minutes and then put the setting back.
It also has a consumer report article about the extensive amount of noise coming from the impeller. This is true, it is a noisy unit. Most of the noise is only from the way it injects bubbles into the water flow.
Once again, it would not have been my first choice.

I have this skimmer on my 46 bow and it skims like mad. I do not have any problems with bubbles, perhaps as stated before you need to break it in first. What size tank do you want to use it on? I would recommend it for anything under 50 gallons. JMO

Except that these are supposed to be rated for up to 90 gallons, I'm not real sure how, mine won't turnover that much water.

In my opinion, the best performance would be achieve at or below a 55gal tank. I wouldn't take the manufacturers rating as bible. JMO

I, too, have this skimmer on a 55g. I bought it before I had a fuge.
It takes some foul crap out for sure, but it is impossible to fully clean! I got all kinds of "tank goo" in its web/water path area that will never come out.
I'm gonna get a different one, but not for awhile.

I soak mine in distilled white vinegar for an hour and then dump some boiling water into it to agitate. Then I rinse with cool water after about 5 minutes.
BTW, either use a funnel to pour in the boiling water or take the skimmer cup o-ring off. I've replaced mine for that reason.

I really did not like mine. It was loud, skimmed poorly, and was a really high maintance skimmer. I am waiting for its replacement in the mail. I am now going with a berlin turbo and I hope for better days ahead.

I had mine on my 55g. I was happy with it for the price. Mine did not put in to many bubbles, but I was constantly having to clean the piece that sifts the water. I did have to have Red Sea send me a couple of new O-rings as they sometimes wear out. IMO, I would not put one on your 75g. I just upgraded to a Euroreef and love it. Do you have a sump?

I have a red sea prizm on my 55 Flower tank and it has worked just fine for over a year now. On my 95 gallon reef i use an in sump aqua clear skimmer and like that one a lot more, less to mess with. The red sea is still a nice one for less money.
