red slime algae

I have a 29 gallon tank with seagrasses in it i have had a long lasting prob with this slime algae for about 2 months iv'e had to wipe it off my seagrasses about once a week to prevent it from taking over. So now i want to just resort to one of those chemical removers since i already tried adding powerheads, turning off the lights for a few days (which killed a few of my grasses) and physically removing it; but my question is, do u think that the chemical stuff will kill my sea grasses since they are both types of algae plant things?

i used some powder stuff called red slime remover. it turned my water a yellowish tint for a couple hours, but it was back to normal in a day. i would start off with a low dose and see if it affects your seagrass before you use the recomended dose. hope this helped.
