Red Slime Algae

I have siphoned this out and it just keeps coming back I am thinking of using this product called chemi clean i have seen some other posts where the problems come from phosphates or lack of circulation of high nitrates. Well my nitrates do seem to be rising so I cut back on feeding nitrates are at 5 now. I only have 2 fish. I have a turnover rate at about 29 times in an hour so I dont think that is a problem although I think where it is at there might be a dead spot because I added some more live rock and it might be blocking that area. Any suggestions on how to get rid of this I want to stop it before it gets out of hand...Is there any inverts that eat this stuff like a conch. Cause my sand has brown stuff all over it also not slime algae but just looks dirty....

I tried all methods of fighting Red Slime without additives, and it just kept coming back. The red Slime killed off parts of my gorgonians and my closed brain as I was trying to kick it naturally.
I used " Red Slime Remover" and It was gone completely in 24hrs. No ill effects whatsoever. I know several others who have used it with success also.
I even tried "Erase" and ran into all sorts of problems. Killed my colerpa in my refugium and my bubble coral took a beating also!
My opinion is, "get rid of it now, before it kills stuff. Then deal with the cause, so it doesn't come back".
If your phosphates are a problem, use Rowaphos. IMO the best stuff out there!. Does not leach when exausted!

I've had minor bouts with red slime in my tank over its past year of breaking in. Minor outbreaks are nothing to worry too much about. One thing you might try (which worked well for me) is to cut your feedings in half. If you feed every day, just feed the same portions every OTHER day. Phosphates are often attributed to red slime, but overfeeding is also a significant cause. My phosphates were and have always been near zero and I still had some red slime appear here and there. I've tried the Chemi-clear product which works but is only a temporary fix. My recomendation is to siphon out what you can and then cut back on feedings as a more long-term solution.
