Ok so i got some red slime on the back wall of my tank, about a twelve by twelve area, i know its from lack of flow, so i bought a two koralia 3's now my tank turnover is 40x an hour, should i leave it and it will die on its own but how long would someone think this would take? or any good chemicals to put it, don't really want to add anything though, whats everyone's thoughts...

I would scrape it off but make sure you suck it up.. and do a good water change.

the water change is to help remove the excess nutrients that brought the cyanobacteria on.

Are there any side effects to using this stuff? I have been having the same problem and can't get rid of it no matter what I do.

well, red slime remover is an antibiotic. erythromycin, to be exact. antibiotics kill bacteria.
a few years ago i used it and i noticed alot of weird happenings after. some corals were effected. it seemed as though it also killed off another type of bacteria i had in the tank that was doing some good.
while it didn't force my tank into a whole new cycle, it did do something other than take out the symptom of my problem, which was the red slime.
i have cyano in my tank now because of a 14 hour power outtage that killed 90% of my livestock. it's getting less and less with each waterchange.
you really need to cure the problem that is causing it. taking out the visible cyano is not the answer. there are excess nutrients that have to be removed.

we had red slime literally take over our tank a few months ago. we used a red slime enzyme treatment. I think it took two doses, but it seemed to do the trick. your fish may breath a little heavy but if you have an airstone and/or power heads, they should be ok.
warning, though, some algae treatments are not safe for coral. unfortunately I don't have the name of it handy but the product that we used didn't seem to bother our coral.

no coral to worry about just 2 fire gobie and 2 clown, and an anemone in a 55. I think the reason I got the red slime was a lack of water flow, i had two power heads a 400 and a 200 the 400 burned up after a month of only using the 200 gph i got the slime, i now added 2 korila wave maker power heads rated at 850 each and another 400 gph power head, thats an additional 2100 gph that i never use to have...
