Anyone know the common name and/or scientific name of the red sponges with white polyps on them? Are they just a morph?

The specimens that are somewhat commonly available in the hobby are usually a species of tree sponge from the genus Ptilocaulis.
The parazoanthids are relatively hearty, provided you feed them enough.
I've had mine for about 3 - 4 months

If I remember correctly, a common name you can google is "white line sponge".
Yosemity, I am also curious about the care requirements. What are you feeding? Tank temp?current, etc...
Beautiful specimen you have there.

Thanks Tizzo,
It's near the back of my tank, in pretty low light and medium flow. I feed it cyclopeze daily with a turkey baster. Most of the corals in my tank are non-photosynthetic, so I also dose 30ml a day of rotifeast and shellfish diet (phytoplankton) from reef nutrition. The tank runs between 79 and 81 daily.

And it actually eats the cyclops?? I'd have never guessed!
I will remember your info and pass it on to whoever is interested on the rare occasion that we get them in.
I figured phyto, but I had no idea they were meat eaters. Thanks!
