Red Star in 29g - conflicting advice

Hello all - I was researching the Red Starfish:
https://www.saltwaterfish.com/site_11...ot_parent_id=4
and by the SWF description, it requires at least a 10 gallon tank and will only grow to 2 inches or so. While getting water at my LFS a couple days ago, I saw one and asked the LFS employee about them and he said a 29g would be too small and that they grow to 5 inches.
Based on your experiences with them, do they tend to stay somewhat smaller and would it be okay in a 29g tank?
Thanks,
David.

Had one, lasted all of 3 days. Guy at the lfs failed to mention tank had to be at least a year old. Could of done a little research on my end though.

Thanks Spanko - if anyone from SWF is on, you may want to take a look at the link above because the tank size recommendation and animal size are both different from several others describe.
