Redfooted snail

I recently purchased a redfooted snail from a lfs and was wondering if anyone out there has any info on these? Also my lfs told me to get a 50/50 light for my tank and it would cut down on some of the brown algae i get. Anyone have any feedback on this?

Is it a red moon snail? If so it will not do well in a reef for very long, they prefer colder temps.

yeha the red footed snails always tend to fall off something and then drown....im not too fond of these guys!

I have had 2 of these for over a year,so far no problems,but
i guess it's like everything ekse in this hobby,what works for
1 doesn't work for the other guy!

A year ago I ordered 10 scarlets and received 9 scarlets and 1 red moon snail by mistake. My tank is kept at 78. Still alive with no problems. Suppose to be in cold water tanks though.
