reef lighting

After posting several questions about lighting I have come to the conclusion that I should get 2 150 watt Double-Ended Metal Halide. Is this good enough for a 46-gallon tank?
If this is enough (for softies, anemones, and a few hard corals) how should I go about putting them on my tank? Will I be able to screw them into a flouescent hood, or do I need to buy a new hood? Any suggestions would be great!

yellow. u may have to suspend them over the tank, i just bought 2 x 250watt HQI MH. for my 120 gal. and i had to drop them from the ceiling and take the hood off because of heat reeasons. You could possible talk to a LFS, and see if that can build them into ur hood, but u would definately need to get some fans put in also.
I like having mine suspended, makes it easier to get into the tank, with the hood off. and doesnt look bad at all.

You will be fine with that lighting and as for your conopy not surfe what you have but keep in mined you want the lights like 10 inches above the water with fans if in canopy for they will heat up. If you current canopy can not provide the 10 inches needed you will need new one or hang them. good luck
