Reef Lights

I currently have 440 watts VHO on a 55 reef. I have the following Corals in there:
Hammer
Bubble
Open Brain
Frogspawn
Tourch
Polpys
xenia
My question is if I only keep those in the tank is it worth getting a 2x 175 halide system or just keep the VHO's? I am not sure if the corals I have will do any better under the halide's. What are your opinions?
Thanks

As I understand it, the MH lighting is great for reef. Based upon what I have read and been told by others, PC is good, VHO is better and MH is best. Specifically though, MH in conjunction with some PC actinic lighting it the best combo for reef setups. Search within this forum for reef lighting suggestions and you'll find more than you bargained for. HTH and Happy New Year!

I guess to make it clear, are the benifits of MH worth another $350 over just plain VHOs? I am still getting 8 wpg.

The corals you're keeping are medium & low light corals and will florish under the lights you have. I would only switch to MH if I were going to start keeping alot of SPS. It's not worth the upgrade given the corals you're keeping.
