Reef Package

I have 300 gallon saltwater that I built new.
I have plenty of rocks inside it already.
I m planning to make it into a reef tank and I'm looking for reef package to keep it in good maintainance.
what is the best selection do you prefer to purchase inorder to maintain it and keep it clean.

Lots of snails. You can have hermit crabs too, but they will try to eat anything they have an opportunity to.

Personally I would start with a smaller clean up crew and increase it as your bioload increases. After you tank has cycled, this is what I would add...
50 snails (5 nas snails)
4 Queen Conchs
4 cleaner shrimp
After a few months....
4-6 emerald crabs
Another 50 or so snails.
You could also add a sand sifting star if you like
Personally I don't like hermits because they knock things over in a reef. I have 2 in a 120...Only because they have not died yet.

I would substitute Fighting conch instead of the queen and mix the snails up, Nassarius, Trochus, Cerith, Nerite, Turbo. I would also do some investigation on the sand sifter stars before you add that.

+1, wait on the sand sifting star if you want one, but fighting conchs should keep your sand bed clean.

I would not imply to add all of one kind of snail....Nass snails are good for the sand and actually I agree on the fighting conch, would be better than a queen I think I was typing and not thinking at work. Personally I love the Cerith, Nerite and Turbo combo. I would like to mention that everyone should wait about 6 months to a year to wait on a sand sifting star if you which to have one.
