OK this may seem dumb I bought that coral at the top of the picture today, and didnt think to ask what it was, so I was wondering if anyone knows the correct name and what they like as in strong current strong light etc. Also In the bottom left I have a toadstool leather it has been like that for a couple of days since I bought it do you think it is ok or is there something I can do. I had one before and it seemed to allways be open do you think it is still under stress? Thanks

Boy , that is like throwing money up in the air , don`t know what you will get back . Always , Always ask questions before buying any fish , Coral , or inverts . Some need very specific conditions .

The top looks like a pagoda cup which needs moderate to high flow, as well as light. The toadstool should perk up in a few days. Toadstools will frequently shrink, shed a skin, adn then show to be even bigger. Growing. As well, if you are combining softies with LPS OR SS THEY need special placement, preferably out of the flow of either and vice versa. the lighting can be extremely fluctuating, but the higher the better, as long as you don't put it rightunder the lights. If the toadstool does not perk up, consider flow. they need more moderate to high flow, but not in the path of the eductor. teh cup coral will be more responsive to conditions like those of SPS. Good Luck. A better picture of both would help a lot. i may be way off on the id of the top coral.

Reefer545 hit it dead on the money, exactly what I was thinking. Be careful next time you purchase anything. Make sure you ask questions before the employee even starts bagging it up! Ask Flow Rate. Light. Placement. and any other special properties.

I just speak it how i see it, sooner or later someone would have, and we all would say the same thing: We have all acted impulsively , and we want you to recognize the acts before having to learn from them. Congrats to you for not being too proud to say you may have acted on impulse instead of just trying process of elimination, even if things died, until you got it right, even though that is the true base of all this SW business. Nonetheless, never hesitate to ask, best wishes, adn no one will hold it against you.
