"Reef Safe"?

What makes something reef safe or not?? For example, I have a chocolate chip star that is not reef safe. I guess I'm not sure what that means.

If you put 10 reefers in a room and asked that question you would probably get 10 different answers.
IMO if it eats animals in my reef that I consider desireable then it isn't reef safe.

IMO something that is not reef safe is anything that will eat/destroy corals and inverts.

"reef safe" anything that can coexist with soft/hard corals or other sessile inverts without doing them any harm. Thats my description.
