Reef Scaping - HELP !

I have a 76 gallon Half Circle Oceanic Tank. I have the sugar sized sand in the bag just waiting to build my structure. I liked the idea of using PVC or Egg crate to build a structure to either zip tie, putty, or drill 1/2" holes and just slide the rock. The problem is that I only see 1 or 2 pictures on this, and no how to or DIY. Anyone please help and post links to find a DIY post on which would be better.
My tank is 25" tall so it would take a lot of rock to get that high. Which is the best way that would still look like a reef.

Suggestion - When aquascaping look for underwater reef pic's. Find something you want to recreate. The twin mounds or lagoon types, whatever, then on a bare glass bottom place your eggcrate. Pile rocks into a form that pleases you. Make shure to leave room for maintainance and placements, as well as flow. Now take apart and rebuild it using zip ties, drilling and dowling, epoxy, whichever method(s) you choose. Just make it stable. Then add sand around it. Looking for a how to site I can't tell you how much your own trial and error will work better. Just don't rush and you will be happier with the end result. Good luck.
