Do you really need a wet/dry filter for reef tank.
I have a 72gal Bow front tank. I'm using 2 canister filter.
I have bubble coral and xenia , Polyps , frogspawn.
Any info will be very helpful. Will post some picture later.
Thanks

Nobody really uses canister filters anymore. The DSB (deep sand bed) and live rock with algae in a sump or refugium with or without a protein skimmer is whats considered best at the moment. Dont get rid of the canisters though, you can use them as pumps or just for circulation if anything.

No,
me 135 gal reef tank has LR and sand plenum with two hang ons for phosphate and carbon water filtration, biowheels have been out for months now and one 100 gal protein skimmer. Also I only have about 50 lbs of LR and very old coral skeletons in the tank. There are about 10 fish including a med sized naso tang and med sized snoflake and in addition to a 2.5 in long blue spiney lobster. The tank is clean and clear and i do 10% water changes every week or so. A wet dry filter will actually speed up things so fast with the biological process that your nitrates will be more difficult to control.
