Which do you find more fascinating and fun to watch,Reef type tanks with colorful fish or Aggressive tanks?

i think that reef tanks are definately more fascinating. however, there are some absolutely gorgeous predatory fish that simply cant be housed with corals. if i was going to do an aggressive tank that i couldnt have corals in, i would want something no smaller than 220 gals.

I'm not sure why the two have to be mutually exclusive. IMHO, there's nothing cooler then seeing aggressive/predatory fish, kept with corals.

I like both and my tank is a mix of both. I have easy to keep softies with a big lunar wrasse and snowflake eel as well as a bunch of reef safe fish. As soon as some of these corals grow out more I will probably add an emperor angel(had one about a year ago but my lunar took him out
). It is difficult with nitrate problems and my lunar flipping frags over all the time but it is something that I just deal with. I don't think sps would work with most aggressive fish especially wrasses, triggers and puffers. They just do too much damage too make it worth it unless you have deep pockets to pay for corals they destroy. Shrimp and crabs are obviously out of the pic too. I tried adding peppermint shrimp to my tank but they are gone as soon as the hit the water.
