Reef Temp.

Hello all, I have a 20 gal. tank that has a temp of 76 degrees in the morning and around 79 at night after the lights go out. The books say around 68 to 82 for reefs. I have this 3 degree temp change during the 12 hour day light cycle. I have a glass top when I take off help air get to the top and cool the water a little so it does jump the 3 degrees, maybe 2 degrees. I know because the tank is smaller then the 90 gal. that i am trying to get going, that your will have this change in temp. I guess my question is:
Is this temp change possibly going to hurt my reef ?
Also, my lights on around 2" above the glass top on mounting legs
Don't what to remove glass top because the fish that I want to get might Jump out

Any Info about this!
Thanks,
ReefRobert

A few degrees variance is ok...mine is usually around 78 or 79...but with it getting warmer here it got up to 81 yesterday before my wife turned on the ac.

it is amazing how many of us let the tank control the temperature of our house!

the obsession never ends!
