Reef W/O Halides

I was thinking about making a Reef aquarium. What kind of livestock can I have in a Reef tank and not have Halide lighting?

What kind of lighting are you considering? If you get a good t-5 system then you get whatever you want.

Here's an old pic of my 55 from right after I swapped my VHO for T5. SPS, LPS, clams, and anemone all doing great.

Great looking tank. What kind of t-5's are you using?

This is similiar to what I use. Has two blue and two white bulbs as well as the Lunars.

Will the light reach the bottom? My light is 2 feet 1 inch from the substrate level.
This is current tank.

Thanks.
I'm using five 54w bulbs. The fixture is the Aquactinics TX5.
UVL 75/25
ATI blue plus
UVL Aquasun
ATI Actinic 03
ATI aquablue special

Turns out what I have is a power compact with 2 10k actinic and 2 White bulbs. 65W per bulb
with yours you can keep most soft corals but the pic you posted was a t5 not pc

I was thinking about getting one of these being I already have a power compact I just need to add a little more depth to my lighting.

It can go in the back corner as the light I have in already is 48" long and covers most of the front. Its dirty I know.

Any thoughts?

I thought that the clip on light was a m/h? anyway , I'm building a hood to the specs of my pendants now. With m/h u can keep anything you want and they'll reach the bottom of your tank for sure. Go ahead and spend the money for halides, it's better to do it now than later.LOL.
