I have a 65gl. I am really clueless on the amount of powerheads I need for my tank. I have about 11-12x flow right now from a mag 500 from the wet dry and a 350 pump on my canister. I just need alittle help on the best for temperature, what is the head thing mean? Also would one that rotates be good? I also heard some shut off and on. Please give me a hand. Thanks

the ones that shut off and on are with a wave maker. if i were you id put a maxi jet 600 or 900 in there as well and you can buy the rotating head to put on it

Don't do the rotating ones. Within about a month or two they stop rotating and become regular ol' powerheads.

Im sure we all have suggestions :) but what is your goal turnover rate? Easier to give u suggestions based on your needs. Can you clarify what you mean best on temp?

2 SEIO would be good. If you don't want to quite spend that much money, then 2 Maxi-Jet 1200's would do just fine. I tend to avoid RIO powerheads.

Sorry I havent posted latley been real busy with family and such. I went with the Maxijet 1200. I did not want quite what everyone says to have on the flow which is 20-25x gph. I really think that is tooooo much. I have had several corals that do not like flow at all. So I really wanted to play it by sight and see how the tank reacts to more flow. The fish totally love it once I get some corals I will know for sure. I like the fish response to it though...they look more happy
What I meant by temperature MSD2 was my Halides already create a temp spike at times so I wanted something that would run very cool and not mess with the temp at all...which so far is what I found. Thanks for all the great help and advice.
