I'm going to do a 25% water for the first time on a tank that is 8 years old my nitrates are between 10 and 20 for the first time. My question is I have a large frogs pawn what is the best way to take it out and lay it in tank water in an container withut hurting it?

why do you need to take ur frogspawn out of the tank?
also if you have never done a water change in 8 years you might be better of doing a 10% water change...but whatever % water change you end up doing then make sure your new waters temp and salinity are as close as your current tanks temp and salinity as you can get it.

I do water changes every week and it is 10%. my temp is at 78 I have a chiller all other water perameters are good. If I do a large water change the frogspawn would be out of the water and I do not want them to tear.

im nwhat if you placed the frogspawn in a different location of the tank closer to the bottom so that the water line wouldn't drop below it...
but if your doing 10% water changes weekly and your nitrates are up around 10-20ppm...you might need to address that issue too...

Hi, I have Frogspawns and Hammers that get exposed when I do my water changes too. I always run my finger thru the polyps to disturb it and get them to draw in befor removeing the water.
A couple times I forgot and the heads drooped really bad and looked scary but still came back fine and didnt seem to hurt it any.

I'd relocate it in the tank if possible or place it in a bucket of removed tank water. If you remove it, pick it up and wait for it to retract as much as it will and then remove it upside down to place in the bucket... but place it right side up in the bucket.
btw, that's a beaut...
