That's about it I think. I will get an up dated photo... Here it is as of 10-15-03. The torch coral was getting to big so it is now in the 110g tank.

nice looking tank - I noticed you run it @ 78 degrees - do you run your large tank @ that temp too?? Just curious because mine is set to 80 and climbs to 81 during the day for about an hour and 1/2 or 2 hours then slowly drops back down ...want to know if it is helping somethign specifically or just your standard procedure thanks!!

My 110g runs around 80-82. I keep the nano cooler at 78 just because of the small water volume and because the temp can change rapidly with 6g of water... really I just wanted a "safe zone" in case for some reason the temp started to climb. Paranoia I guess :scared:

reefnut, where did you find the 32 watt retrofit kit, who makes it, and did you actually have to install the kit, drill holes, cut out and make place for fan, screws, etc, all sounds scary like i would mess it up . . .

If I wanted to do a 6 gallon eclipse, but with NO fish, only a few inverts (no shrimp) just hermit and or snail, and wanted some shrooms, green starburst polyps, and a yellow colony polyp only, how often THEN would i have to do water changes? Same frequency, or would the less bio load buy me another week or so? Just curious. beautiful beautiful little nano!

The 32w PC is a Coralife. I did install the kit but it was very simple. I also had to cut in the fans... but it was also pretty easy.
With no fish your nitrates would not build up as quick so water changes bi-weekly may be ok...

BIweekly? I thought you were doing 1 gallon change once a week?
If I had a 6 gallon with 20 lbs LS, and 12-15 lbs LR, and only green starburst polyps and yellow colony polyps, with one -2 hermits and snails, and occasionally dosing trace elements, I would still have to change the water at least once a week? Even with all that natural filtration, and light bioload relying primarly on light?
Thanks for input though ReefNut, I appreciate your time

Thanks fishfreek, I got the lighting from the LFS when I got the tank... there are several websites that sell them though. I am running a 50/50, when I replace it, it will be a 50/50 with true actinic.
