Refractometer calibration

Recently me refractometer shows a slanted blue line and I am having a hard time reading an accurate result. I have tried calibrating but nothing seems to help. Any suggestions?

Not that I remember. I do sometimes put it under my aquarium in the cabinet and might toss it in there (in the padded case) but that would be a short drop. Are they that sensative?

lots of glass in there. Could be the issue.

On mine, i calibrate it and then stick it up to a window as if trying to look outside. I also have press down on the flip down plate.
