I don't have any info on the one you are considering but here is some info on the one I will soon order to replace the swing arms I currently use:
The RHS series are designed for testing the concentration of saltwater and brine. It's triple scale provides a direct reading of the specific gravity and concentration. (Parts per thousand) of salt in water and the RHS-10 proves itself invaluable for agriculture, food processing and wildlife management. this instrument is equipped with Automatic Compensation system making it ideal for field use.
Easy to use
Dual scale includes specific gravity and % per thousand
Automatic temperature compensation
Easily calibrated
Adjustable eyepiece
No batteries required
Carrying case included
Includes pipette and calibration screw driver
Range measurement:0-10%
Minimum division: 0.10%
Accuracy: 0.1%
It is offered at numerous sites...even by our host if I'm not mistaken. Price range is $45-$50 depending on where you look. Other than that I can't help you with your question...maybe somebody using them will post additional comments.

Thanks NM, swf.com does sale that one!! Anyone have the RHS-10? There is currently a thread that says some are hard to read... I'm wanting one that is dummy proof :)... That would be nice if the RHS-10 is!!
I also found a Captive Purity Refractometer... one series comes with a light. I'm wondering if that would make it easier to read??

What about the Pinpoint Salinity Monitor?? That looks dummy proof. Anyone have one or know about them?

I've been seeing reference to difficulties with them too...I wonder what the problem is and if there is a better model to consider. Maybe those using that type will comment. I'm definitely going to order one...but before I do I want to make sure the one I get will be as user friendly as possible...us old guys are not high tech enough to over come problems.
Beisdes my eyes are getting bad and I really need something simple and fool proof!!!!
