Are there suppose to be a lot of bubbles in refugium when the water goes into the sponge section? The bubbles are going into my tank. It started out not doing this and now it is so I'm just trying to figure out what I am doing wrong and what I need to do to fix it.

What pumps are you using in the refugium?

My first thought, with the information you've given, is that the pump is running dry secondary to evaporation.

I have a reef octupus NW-150-6530B and two Quiet One 4000. I have about eight inches of water in the refugium on the end.

It could be that your skimmer is so close to your return pump and the pump is picking up air from it's output. How long has your tank been running? I know when I first set up a tank it usually takes a week before the microbubbles go away. I'm assuming your tank has been up longer than that if you already have fish in it.

The bubbles started before I added the protein skimmer and I thought that they would go away after I added it but they didn't.
