Refugium lighting options

Hi all,
Yesterday I replaced the 18 watt 50/50 bulb over my fuge with a 27 watt LOA bulb rated at 1300 lumens at 5500K to light the 10 gal fuge supporting my 29 gal setup. Per the packaging, this bulb is comparable to a 100 watt incadescent. I have it in a clamp-on fixture with a std. aluminum reflector. My 50/50 bulb was pretty old and growth of my macros had ceased.
To my eyes, the fuge is much brighter but the color seems off. It now appears to have a yellowish-green tint where-as before, it was bright white.
Will this work for fuge lighting? If not, is there anything else that you guys/gals recommend? I've read that the LOA 65 watt outdoor fixture and bulb at 6500K is also a good option for fuge lighting. Does anyone offer a 50/50 bulb for a std screw-in type receptacle?
Thoughts???

Thanks in advance....

Is there any benefit to having a 50/50 bulb over the 'fuge?

The lower kelvin ratings do a great job on refuge's. 5500k should get you better algea growth then the 50/50.
