in your opinion would a Sylvania 20w-75w compact flourescent with a 3000k temp provide sufficient light output for a 15 gallon fuge with chaeto and grape caulerpa?

The lighting is probably good enough for your refugium...especially if you are wanting to export nutrients via macro algaes.....are you lighting it 24/7 or reverse of the display?

I leave mine on reverse of the display, I once had it on 24/7 but discovered if I had a time when lights were out my pod population multiplied better.

i don't think lights have a direct effect on pod population. It just so happen that pods are nocturnal. When the lights go out maybe more of them come out of hidding

I think your lighting is adequate. I use a 96 watt PC over mine and actually have tons of growth. I used to light it 24/7, but now the opposite of the display. It hasn't slowed it down at all.
Just my .02

I heard that if you don't keep a refugium light on 24/7 then it will start to pull nutrients out of the tank. Is this true or just a opinion?
