Refugium Lighting

Will NO be good enough for a refugium? I already have the ballasts and NO bulbs that would fit over my 75 sump that I will be building a fuge in. Also what bulbs would you use??

macro will grow like a weed with one of those cheap work light aluminum clamp on things and a grow bulb as well.
NO will also be fine, you can increase the growth of your macros by buying one of the plant growth bulbs designed for fresh water tanks that are planted. they give off more of the correct spectrum.

Just curious...how many watts are you putting over it and how big is the tank?

The fuge will only be around 30 gallons, but a little deeper than normal. I will probably go with the grow light in a short shop light if that works good enough and sell my NO ballasts and bulbs.

One thing I've always been thinking about but have heard nothing on is attempting to light from the side or back. Why not line up the NO on the side instead of the top.....this could be better dimentions to work with since it shouldn't be as deep....
