I have a 55 gallon reef, and would like to build a refugium using an overflow box, small glass aquarium, and return pump. My problem is my limited space in my stand. I am looking at probably a 10 gallon tank for my refugium in order to get it to fit in my stand. Will this be sufficient? Also, any suggestions on return pumps? Everything I read seems to point towards Rio powerheads for the return pump. Also, what kind of lighting, if any, is necessary to grow the various macroalgae one would want in the refugium? Lastly, DSB or Miracle Mud in the refugium? Thanks.
