refugium to grow pods only

I have a hob refugium 19x12x4in ... but no light ... I just wnat to grow pods ... do i need a light? ... Is it safe otherwise to put some caulerpa in it? I have a 55 gal...

I think it would be fine for pods if you seed it and put some live rock in there. Any plants you want to put in there would require light.

I am no expert on pods, but don’t they eat the algae? So wouldn’t you need a light to produce algae?:notsure:

I've always wondered, how do pods get form the fuges to the main tank with the fish? Wouldn't the pump chew them up?

I think it would work - the 30 that i recently set-up I'm running a 10g sump with macro algaes under a 15w flourescent (I beleive 15w). So far no nitrates.
Let us know how it works after its all been setup for a while.

i recently set up a 30gal and seeded it with some pods and worms; a couple of weeks later there were pods everywhere...
Its like they expodentialy multiplied; great feeling.

where did u get them? I've to ask this question: does LS from the LFS come with worms and things in it in general? where do they come from (i know i could research but i m lazy today)
