Refuguim problem

I didn't know where to put this so since its on my reef tank I put it here. I have red slime on my refugium sand. I know its an algae. I have had crazy nitrate problems over the past too weeks. I need to get rid of this algae without damaging my other plants. Its 20 gal. 2 mangroves and alot of grape algae. :help:

try siphoning it out when you do your next water change.

Ok. Should I do anything to the sand?

if theres red slime on the sand, siphon that off too (dont worry about sucking some sand up with it). you dont have to stir the sand or anything.

Chem Clean Will Remove Red Slime

syphon it off and sounds like a little more flow may help keep it away!

you could add a small powerhead when you have finished the siphon.
