I was just wondering about the Regal Tang. What are the secrets to keeping them alive? I have had some in the past and the ones I have had have been pretty skiddish. Anyone have a lot of success in keeping them? What was done differently to keep them?

i have had troublw with them also, I think you have to buy the med to larger size, from what I have seen when you get the 1 inch guys, they survival rate is poor

hardiness is somewhat dependent on the collection site. indian ocean and red sea specimens(with an orange rather than a blue chest) are more likely to adapt to captivity than those from the pacific. provide with plenty of good hiding places. even so these guys have a very bad rating. the bigger and more mature the tank the better off you are. good luck

we got our regal tang 3 or 4 years ago and he is doing great other than his face turned white and we just feed him seaweed and greens
