Remora Pro Owners please help

I just picked up a Remora Pro w/ a MAG5 used. The collection cup has filled with water right to the tube opening. I was under the impression that the cup was to fill with foam. The A&O manual from AquaC mentions an O Ring to raise and lower the collection cup. Was this only for new skimmer? The one I got is a couple years oold and doesn't seem to have one. My tank is tore apart right now and I'm look to figure this out ASAP, any quick pointer would be appreciated!

the 'o-ring' is what keeps the cup sitting at a determined height on the skimmer. If it is filling with water it is too low. you can use a rubberband around the cup to make it sit a bit higher. mine sits about half way up and only collects foam, if I drop it all the way down it fills with water.
