Removing Copper?

This weekend my brother came to visit and brought a big box full of base rock and coral pieces. I would like to use these in my tank which should be set up within the next couple of weeks. I had to wait for the carpet to be installed first. Anyway when he had his tank set up 10 years ago he used copper to cure ick and put it into the main tank. Is there any way to remove the copper so that I can use these pieces. I had planned on soaking them in water for awhile then doing a test just to see how bad it is. Does copper dissipate any with time? Any ideas would be appreciated.:help:

You could do a dip in something like Start Right to neutrilize copper. Might help if you condition the stuff like that before usin it.
