Removing over growing star polyps

Anyone have experience with removing overgrowing star polyps. For example if they are starting to grow up the side of a rock or coral. How do you remove them?

Easiest coral to frag...just get an edge and peel it up, it comes off easy and just drape it where you want it to attach and grow.
I am talking about green star polyps....I hope that is what you mean.

Yes green star polpys are what I'm referring to. I have fragged them several times and pulled them off of glass, but they seem difficult to remove from live rock.

It's harder then removing it from glass, but working at peeling it off the LR is about the only way.

I am finding that out. I have pulled some of it back but it is tough. I just don't want it to cover my rock because it has already taken over a small zoa colony.
