replace lighting

How often do these lights need to be replaced? MH/T5/VHO/PC lighting.

if you are keeping corals id say every 6 months.... fish only tank you can keep them until they burn out.... but with corals you need to replace them every 6 months because they lose there power and there ability to penetrate the water to your corals....

I went with the bulb makers recomendation of 12 months for my first bulbs. That was too long I realize now. The new bulbs were noticable bluer and brighter, and the corals exploded with new growth. Now I change them every 7 months. VHO's at one time MH's 3 months later. That way I'm not completly changing the total lighting at once.

I change mine every 12 months... VHOs, PCs & MHs. Although now that I'm running 20k MHs I may have to replace them more often.
